Renewing Our Strength
Text: Isaiah 40:30, 31
By Pastor Jose B. Cabajar

In the Christian course of life, our Heavenly Father gave us an exciting course to run. We are not competing with one another neither are we running in vain, but we are fulfilling the blessed will of God through our new life in Christ. Running the Christian race of life is not an easy run on a smooth road. Hurdles of life are not found on the wayside but well distributed right on our way. They are not meant to hurt us but to train and help us to display the sufficient grace of God. From time to time we negotiate sharp curves of life, not designed to destroy us but to help us to sharpen our spiritual alertness. Sometimes we see crossroads on our way to test our spiritual perception and to reveal the desires of our hearts.

As we journey in the path of life, we experience joy and sorrow. We have our own up and down situations that are really part of our earthly life. The presence of unwelcome things is still being felt and mishandling them will lead us to failures and discouragements. Storms of life seem to squeeze us and drain our strength.

(I) The Strength We Need
    -Spiritual strength v30
    -Physical strength
     Ephesians 6:10 Psalm 138:3

(II) The Source Of Our Strength
-God is the giver of our strength
       v31 Psalm 103:5 Psalm 27:1

Wait on the LORD and be strengthened!

(III) The Purpose Of Our God-given Strength
-For the glory of God v31
       Deuteronomy 6:5 ( Psalm 50:15 )

It is written in the Bible, "Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall." God reminds us that even in the prime of our youth and strength, we are subject to fall without Him. Our natural strength may wind down but as we wait upon the Lord, He lovingly extends His grace and mercy and our strength is renewed. It is only then that we can soar up like eagles claiming victory.
